English Poem- 10 The Little Doll Summary

Poem- 10 THE LITTLE DOLL The little girl had a sweet doll. Her cheeks were red and she had curly hair. She thought her doll was the prettiest doll in the world. The little girl lost her doll when she played in the heath (uncultivated open area) one day. She searched for her far and wide, high and low, but she could not find her. She cried and cried for more than a week. The little girl found her doll as she played in the heath one day. Folks said that the doll had changed a lot. The changes were: Ø Her paint was all washed off. Ø She had lost an arm because the cows had trodden (stepped, walked over) on it. Ø Her hair was no longer curly. The doll was the prettiest doll for the little girl. The doll was precious to her. One day she lost her doll while playing. Later she found it but the doll was actually not pretty to look at, as it changed a lot. Yet, as per the little girl’s memories in the past the doll was still prettiest doll in the world for her.
