a. What is a sketch?
Ans. Rough drawings from our memory to explain the route to a perticular place is called a sketch.

b. What is a grid?
Ans. Grid is the network of lines formed by the combination of parallels of latitudes and longitudes on the globe. It is useful for locating various places exactly on the globe or map.

c. Name the four intermediary directions.
Ans. 1. Northeast
         2. Northwest
         3. Southeast
         4. Southwest

d. Write two advantages of a map.
Ans. 1. A map is easy to carry.
         2. A map can show many things such as roads, railways, bridges, etc.
