Ans.- The

Ans.- It
means rowing very fast to save their lives.

Ans.- The

Ans.- The
narrator was struck with fear and astonishment because he saw a huge giant
inhabitant, whose size was far greater than that of a human being.

Ans.- The

in size, while the narrator was very small, making the voice sound extremely
loud to him.

a. How does the narrator describe the place when he first
lands there?
Ans.- The narrator describes the place as barren and rocky,
with no rivers, springs, or inhabitants.
b. How do we know how huge the creature was?
Ans.- We know
the creature was huge because the sea water reached only up to his knees, and
he could walk through the sea easily.
c. Why did the creature blow the narrator’s hair aside?
Ans.- The
creature blew the narrator’s hair aside to see his face clearly out of
curiosity.
d. Do you think the giant creature was going to harm the
narrator? Give reasons.
Ans.- No, the giant was not going to harm the narrator. He
picked him up gently, looked at him with curiosity, placed him safely on the
ground, and later took him home carefully.

1. Gulliver’s companions rowed back to the ship
immediately. What does this tell us about the danger on the land?
Ans.- It tells us that the land was dangerous because a
huge giant was chasing them. The crew realized that staying there could risk
their lives, so they tried to escape quickly.
2. How does the author help the reader understand the
enormous size of the giant? Give two examples from the story.
Ans.- The author shows the giant’s size by explaining that
the sea water reached only up to his knees and that he picked Gulliver up
between his thumb and forefinger and lifted him high above the ground.
3. The giant did not harm Gulliver even though he could
easily do so. What does this reveal about the giant’s nature?
