Ans : Our National Emblem has three lions standing back to back. The lions are standing on a platform which has the Ashoka Chakra in the centre, a horse on the left and a bull on the right. Underneath the emblem the words “Satyameva Jayate” are written in Devnagri script.

 QII. Give reasons:-
1. When a leaf falls from a tree or a plant, it loses its color in a few days
Ans: A leaf that has fallen of a tree cannot make its own food. It loses its chlorophyll and hence it loses its color in a few days.
2.Plants such as cactus show no leaves or very less number of leaves.
Ans: Cactus have no leaves because the leaves have turned into spines which reduces the loss of water from its surface.
3. All types of plants are not found in all regions.
Ans:-All types of plants are not found in all regions because of:
a) Differences in climatic conditions
b) Soil types
4.The Earth stops its rotation as well as revolution.
Ans.   If   the Earth stops rotating and revolving, then one side of the Earth would heat up while the other side would be cold. Thus one side of the Earth will experience only day while the other side will experience only night throughout the year. There will be no change in the seasons too. Hence it will become difficult for the living being to survive.
5. India is a land of unity in diversity.
A1. . People of different religions, castes, languages, cultures, lifestyle, dressing sense, faith in God, rituals of worship, etc live together and respect each other and celebrate all festivals together with love and feeling of brotherhood.
6. Energy is very special.
Ans – Energy is special as it makes our lives easy and our world lively and unique. It helps us to do all our work. So we should use it effectively and conserve it. Energy should never be wasted.
 7. The sun is an important source of energy.
Ans. Life will not exist on the earth without the sun. We will not be able to see things around us, we will not feel warmth/heat . The sun is the important source of energy as it provides us energy in the form of light and heat.
