 3. Give one word for the following. Then frame a sentence with each word. 

a) Word: weeded Meaning: remove harmful wild plants 

Sentence: He alone had watered and weeded the flowers.

 b) Word: wither Meaning: to become dry and die 

Sentence: The withered grass and the bushes were removed.

c) Word: droop Meaning: to bend due to weakness

Sentence: The flowers were drooping in the hot sun.

d) Word: harvest Meaning: to cut and collect ripe crop

Sentence: We had enormous harvests of corn this year.

) Word: commotion Meaning: sudden noisy confusion 

Sentence: The children are making a lot of commotion.

f) Word: errand Meaning: a short trip to complete some work

 Sentence: My mother asked me to go on an errand

g) Word: rejoiced Meaning: showed great joy or happiness 

Sentence: She rejoiced in her good fortune.

 h) Word: rewarded Meaning: give something to someone to recognise their service. 

Sentence: He was soon rewarded for this service.

i) Word: pitter-patter Meaning: sound of rain 

Sentence: The rain pitter-pattered on the roof.
